A wild and wet day produced very little of note. Migrant numbers continued to dwindle as most birds had left Bardsey overnight, and – in the early-morning fierce winds and heavy showers – hardly any new ones had arrived to replace them. A Reed Warbler was trapped at Cristin and nine Spotted Flycatchers were seen, but other migrants were few: just eight Common Chiffchaffs, seven Sedge Warblers, six Blackcaps, three Willow Warblers, two Common Whitethroats, two Garden Warblers and a Common Swift were of note.
