A fairly diverse selection of species and clear sunshine made for one of the best days of the autumn so far. A Wryneck at Carreg Bach was the only really scarce species recorded, but a variety of other migrants included two Whinchats, three Pied Flycatchers, two Spotted Flycatchers, two Whitethroats, two Garden Warblers, 16 Chiffchaffs and six Willow Warblers. 11 Wheatears and three Skylarks were on the coast, two Goldfinches arrived and two each of Grey and White Wagtails were seen. Hirundines began passing along the east side of the island: 239 Swallows, 30 Sand Martins and 42 House Martins were counted. Three Teal were in Solfach in the morning, while waders included seven Golden Plovers, a Bar-tailed Godwit, a Knot, two Dunlins and a Snipe. Raptors seen during the day included two Buzzards, a Merlin, a Sparrowhawk and three Kestrels.
