Happily, in accordance with meteorological prophesy, the bad weather only lasted a day and was replaced by calm and sunny conditions. A Reed Warbler at Ty Capel, was the only really different bird to be seen, but two Pied Flycatchers, three Spotted Flycatchers, 17 Chiffchaffs, eight Willow Warblers, and a Grey Wagtail were also found in the morning. A flock of Terns off the South End included 49 Sandwich and 11 Common. Two Knots and a Ringed Plover were on the beach, two Snipe were near the lighthouse and two Sparrowhawks and a Kestrel were seen hunting around the island.
