A beautiful spring evening was spent attempting to tape lure and flick net Sand Martin over Henllwyn. Since the creation of an observatory on Bardsey in 1953 only 15 Sand Martin had ever been ringed. All but four of these had been attracted to the lighthouse. So to catch three birds, along with a bonus Swallow, was a great result. (c) Richard Brown




Wheatear are very much in evidence at the moment. Over sixty were again logged and their harsh chacking was a constant accompaniment to the days birding. top(c) Richard Brown, bottom two (c) Ben Porter

A Hooded Crow was present for most of the day in the Hay fields  top (c) Ben Porter, bottom (c) Richard Brown

 A quick rest after busily feeding in Solfach. 18 Dunlin were present along with 
17 Ringed Plover  (c) Ben Porter
