Wheatear passage continued at a pace today with over 70 logged

A good net round at Cristin 
(top row) Common Whitethroat, Grasshopper Warbler and Common Redstart.

It was the best day of the year so far for catching Willow Warblers. They were caught using mist nets which support the bird in a natural position until they are extracted by our trained staff for ringing (c) Richard Brown


Large numbers of white wagtails continue to pass through, 
with at least 30 on Solfach in the afternoon.

Five Ringed Plovers on Solfach was the highest count of the year to date

Whimbrel passage has began to pick up in the past few days
