A mainly quiet day eventually produced a few notable sightings, the best of which was a flock of eight Black-tailed Godwits settling on the shore of Henllwyn. The first Tree Pipit of the autumn arrived and the first two Great Skuas passed by at close range in the evening. Ten Willow Warblers and the Cuckoo were still present in the gardens, while a Grey Heron, a Lapwing, five Common Sandpipers, a Purple Sandpiper and nine Dunlins were on the shore.

Eight Black-tailed Godwits (top) had joined the Curlew (bottom) flock later on in the day.

The number of Turnstones has risen to 28 in recent days. pictures (c) Ben Porter
