37 Lapland Buntings passing through in the morning was a fairly exceptional count by Bardsey’s standards and was probably the most noteworthy event of the day, although the continuing mass arrival of tits was also highly unusual with 74 Great Tits and 66 Blue Tits counted. Other small landbirds included four Swallows, a House Martin, four Grey Wagtails, 11 Wheatears, three Blackcaps, six Chiffchaffs, 11 Goldcrests, one Spotted Flycatcher, one Pied Flycatcher, 46 Starlings, 58 Chaffinches, six Greenfinches, nine Siskins and six Reed Buntings. The offshore gull flock contained eight Mediterranean Gulls and six Common Gulls, a pair of Wigeons and 23 Common Scoters passed by and waders included a Golden Plover, a Knot, a Dunlin and three Snipe.
