Most birds (if any) were seen at sea, struggling their way southward head-on into the gale-force southerly that persisted throughout the day. The highlight of the day was a female Long-tailed Duck that had a brief respite in Solfach before continuing south wards by mid-morning. Other birds at sea included two Great northern Divers, two Little Gulls, 300 Kittiwakes, 43 Black-headed Gulls and 4 Common Gulls.
At the north end, 110 Chaffinches, two Bramblings, four Greenfinches and three Siskins sheltered in the plantation. A Jack Snipe was flushed up from the Ty Pellaf wetlands later in the afternoon.

Kittiwakes remained in the feeding flocks a little way offshore. (c) Ben Porter
