A single Whooper Swan flying over the island at dusk was the day’s best sighting. A Lapland Bunting flew south in the morning, a Red-throated Diver passed at sea and a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Golden Plover were still present. Migrant raptors were represented by two Merlins, four Kestrels, three Sparrowhawks and a Buzzard; two Teal were in Solfach and a Mediterranean Gull was off the west coast. The number of Goldcrests increased again to 43, while counts of other passerines came to 59 Skylarks, 16 Blackbirds, four Fieldfares, 12 Song Thrushes, five Redwings, four Blackcaps, 13 Chiffchaffs, three Blue Tits, seven Great Tits, one Long-tailed Tit, 82 Starlings, 66 Chaffinches, eight Greenfinches, seven Siskins, 24 Goldfinches and two Reed Buntings.
