A miserable, rainy day saw little in the way of birds. The usual waders were scattered around the narrows at high tide, with totals coming to: 80 Oystercatchers, 10 Purple Sandpipers, a Whimbrel, 38 Curlews, 27 Redshanks and 38 Turnstones. A Grey Heron was also around the beaches.
A Grey Heron has been seen on and off for most of the winter now. Picture (c) Ben Porter
