A beautiful day with gusty easterlies and the highest temperatures of the year saw some quite notable birds gracing the island. The highlights of the day included a Eurasian Treecreeper at Cristin (first of the year), a female Bullfinch at Nant (the first spring record for a few years) and a Knot on Solfach. Migrant-numbers continued to increase, with the day’s passerine counts amounting to: 182 Meadow Pipits, a White Wagtail, a Song Thrush, five Wheatears, 17 Chiffchaffs, 52 Goldcrests, a Greenfinch, two Goldfinches, five Lesser Redpolls, five Siskins and a Reed Bunting.

This Treecreeper spent most of the day in Cristin garden with the Goldcrests, although the bird evaded capture in the heligoland
