12th to 13th February

The incredibly quiet spell continues, with very little to report on either day. A Gannet, six Shelducks and a Ringed Plover were seen around the Narrows in the morning on the 12th, and a Sparrowhawk was seen at Cristin. Six Song Thrushes inland was an increase on recent days, whilst the Firecrest was present at Nant. On the 13th, a flock of 23 Purple Sandpipers around the Narrows and a pair of Teals here were the only notable birds seen.

The Firecrest remains amongst the over-wintering Goldcrests
The Purple Sandpiper flock roosted near Solfach, sheltering against the miserable weather on the 13th
Lesser Black-backed Gull numbers on the island are slowly increasing
