A lovely day with milder temperatures saw a few more migrants finding their way to the island. The first Ring Ouzel and Blackcap of the year were seen at Nant in the morning, and a Mistle Thrush was seen on the South End. Seven Wheatears around the Narrows included the first Greenland-race bird of the year, and 15 Chiffchaffs, 10 Goldcrests and two Song Thrushes inland were also seen around the island.

The first Greenland-race Wheatear (O.o. leucorhoa) of the year was seen frantically feeding on insects in Traeth Ffynnon in the afternoon. Note the darker orange tones extending down to the belly, as opposed to being confined to the throat in the nominate race (below)

The first Blackcap of the year was found belatedly at Nant today
Meadow Pipit numbers remain low in terms of migrant birds
Two Rooks were amongst a small flock of corvids on The Narrows in the morning
