Despite strong Southerly winds, migrants continued to arrive onto the island. In the morning, the first House Martin of the year flew North over the South End, and the first Common Tern of the year was seen briefly in Solfach. The latter sighting is only a day later than the earliest ever record, set in 1981.
A Wood Warbler was also yet another addition to the year list, seen briefly in Plas Withy mid-morning. Other warblers present in the vegetated areas included 12 Blackcaps, 31 Willow Warblers, 18 Chiffchaffs and 17 Goldcrests. Overhead, a movement of over 31 Swallows took place, along with a single Sand Martin. 16 Wheatears around the coast was an increase on previous days, whilst four Whimbrels were likely to be the first real migrants of this species so far this year.
