A very busy change over day saw the return of Steve, Emma and Connor Stansfield, along with Mark Carter, resuming full compliment of staff back at the Observatory (with the exception of Chris Piner).
On the bird front, a single Crossbill was heard flying around in the morning, whilst a single Swift and five Sand Martins passed overhead. A total of 11 Willow Warblers were scattered throughout the gardens.
At least seven Mediterranean Gulls were noted during the day.

Swallows- there are plenty of fledglings around at the moment, with roosts of up to 50 in the reed beds
Peregrine having a play around with a Raven! Defying a 1600th of a second shutter speed
