July 1st

The second Black Guillemot of the year was seen off Pencristin in the morning, and an Arctic Skua was also seen off here midday.

Meadow Pipits continue to make use of the foxgloves!
Juvenile Peregrine- one of two that the southern pair have managed to rear
A new brood of Shelduck chicks have emerged in Solfach, although unfortunately their chances of survival are very small

  1. The meadow pipit amongst the the foxglove is stunning, as is the juve peregrine, well done. The Shelducks, how many do you see "survive" from the size in the image to a more "larger" size, I only ask as we have them breed at our reserve and the last three years it's sadly been a 100% failure rate.
