Sunday 8 September 2013

After the morning's deluge, it turned into a nice day, although there were still very few migrants around. The highlight of the day in island terms was unfortunately seen only be two visiting guests: an Osprey which headed south over the Narrows in the morning, unbelievably the first since autumn 2010!
Two adult skuas chasing an unfortunate Kittiwake off the South End in the morning turned out to be a Pomarine Skua and an Arctic Skua, whilst a Grey Heron, two Black-tailed Godwits, two Ringed Plover, a Bonxie and a further two Arctic Skuas also flew past.
A single Whinchat was seen along the track.

A pair of Swallows at Ty Pellaf have done amazingly well to raise their third brood, which has fledged in the last week
