At sea a steady trickle of birds amounted too 86 Common Scoter, 1 Fulmar, 1 Manx Shearwater, 1 Arctic Tern, 3 Great skua's, 887 Black Headed Gull's, 19 Common Gull, 925 Kittiwake, 25 Gannet's and 600 Razorbills.

On land the most notable birds were at the north end of the island around the plantation where 2 Bramblings, a handful of Chaffinches and 20 Redwing flew overhead. Other passerines were more sensible and kept their heads down in the gale force winds that battered the island today.

On the ringing side this gorgeous adult male Chaffinch found its way into one of the heligoland traps at the observatory, one of our most under rated birds!
