A small amount of visible migration took place in the early hours, before a persistent band of rain arrived on the island. Totals from the morning census amounted to: 20 Swallows, 156 Meadow Pipits, 152 Goldfinches, four Lesser Redpolls, a Greenfinch and a Siskin. The female Firecrest in Cristin garden was trapped in the Heligoland, before being ringed and released. Four Red-throated Divers were seen off the south end of the island in the morning.
