Big thanks to Ben...

After almost five years of doing our daily blog posts, both writing them and lavishly illustrating them with his fantastic photographs, Ben Porter has left the island today to start his university course in Cornwall.

Ben with a Storm Petrel

I would like to say a big thank you to Ben on behalf of all our readers, friends and members for the hard work and dedication he has put into helping the Obs since he moved to the island in 2007. Ben has not only written the blog posts, but has become a very good birder (and all round naturalist), a valued member of the BBFO team, he has helped with entering his daily counts onto our census log, trained to ring and attained his C Permit, found a plethora of rare and scarce birds on here, written many articles for our Newsletter and several papers in our report, including a fully comprehensive moth report for the past few years from the data he has collected and digitised (including his beloved micros!!!!).

From all the Obs Staff, Good Luck with your studies and have a fantastic time at Falmouth.

Steve

  3. What a star this young man is! One of the ornithological 'names' of the future. I'll miss his brilliant pics and all the Bardsey news though no doubt he'll soon make his mark in Falmouth.
