A fresh day on the island today, with high winds and patches of rain (hard to imagine how lovely the weather has been the last few weeks!). Between the showers some good birds were seen though. The highlight for many would be the Barn Owl that spent time above Cristin late morning, mostly being harrassed by Choughs.
Small numbers at sea include 42 Gannets, one Common Scoter, one Great Skua, three Mediterranean
Gulls, 24 Black-headed Gulls, 11 Common Gulls, 55 Herring Gulls, 368
Kittiwakes, one Guillemot, and 168 Razorbills.
The Narrows held one female Teal, three Snipes, one Whimbrel, four Redshanks, and two Turnstones. Inland, two Fieldfares, two Song Thrushes,
one Mistle Thrush, seven Blackcaps, one Chiffchaff, 12 Goldcrests, one
Firecrest, six Coal Tits, 53 Carrion Crows, one Hooded Crow, two Starlings, one
Siskin, 13 Goldfinches, one Lesser Repoll, and three Reed Buntings were seen.
