It was great to see the sun re-appear and even staying put all day. With it came another sign of summer as three Swallows were recorded zipping through the island and the year's first Peacock butterfly sunbathed at Cristin.

A lone Black-headed Gull was seen offshore, as were six Common Scoters, with yesterday's Grey Heron seen feeding in the rock pools on the West Coast. Singles of Snipe and Skylark were in the Lowlands whilst 141 Meadow Pipits, four Wheatears, ten Chiffchaffs, 24 Goldcrests, two Starlings, four Siskins, and 18 Goldfinches were also seen.
