The autumn's highest count of Willow Warblers, 17, brightened up today's census with a bonus Spotted Flycatcher too. Overhead two Swifts and a Grey Wagtail were recorded with one Sedge Warbler and two Chiffchaffs also around.
First juvenile Willow Warbler of the autumn ringed
A pair of young Mediterranean Gulls fed along the tide-line of Solfach and shared space with the likes of four Ringed Plovers, ten Sanderlings, five Purple Sandpipers, 16 Dunlins, two Whimbrel, 32 Curlews, three Common Sandpipers, and 42 Turnstones over the course of the day. Three Common Scoters and one Sandwich Tern also put in an appearance offshore.
Look out for some of our colour-ringed Rock Pipits
