Today was the last calm day before some turbulent weather is forecast to set in. The morning was gusty with wind speeds picking up to the low twenties and there was sunshine all day.

The students from Bangor, Swansea and Aberystwyth are now on their third day on Bardsey and they have been providing some good records. There were two Gadwall on the island today, which was the 16th record for Bardsey, but that makes three birds this year! Willow Warbler numbers were down today with just 15 recorded. There also seems to have been a bit of a clear out of Blackcaps with a reduction to eight records throughout the day.

A nest finding session in the afternoon produced likely locations for one Meadow Pipit, one Magpie, three Wheatears and one Linnet nest.
This is not a Wheatear that will breed in Britain as it is of the Greenland race O.o.leucorhoa, you can tell it by peachy colouration that covers almost the entire underside
Birds around included: 16 Choughs, one Common Whitethroat, one Grasshopper Warbler, 30 Wheatears, three Stonechats, seven White Wagtails, six Pied Wagtails, 15 Rock Pipits, one Tree Pipit, two House Martins, 44 Swallows, 31 Sand Martins, one Skylark, Little Owls, one Common Sandpiper, 28 Whimbrels, five Curlews, one Lapwing, one Kestrel, two Peregrines, two Buzzards, two Sparrowhawks and one Merlin.
