Today was very windy throughout, the sea was rough consequently and it made for some dramatic scenery!

The weather was not at all ideal for any outdoor work, with the wind being interspaced with some quite heavy showers, so we used it as a chance to get caught up on some office work and other indoor jobs we still had to get caught up with.

We got out early morning though, and headed down to the narrows to see what was about. Solfach was again full of gulls feeding amongst the washed up kelp and two darvic rings were read, one on a Herring Gull and one on a Great Black-backed Gull - both were ringed here last year as pulli (birds in the nest).

On the way back to the Obs, there were two Starlings sheltering from the wind behind the Boathouse, these are surprisingly the first record since 29 March, and with a few Rose-Coloured Starlings turning up around the country, they sparked some temporary excitement!

The rest of the day saw George finishing writing up his Manxie Burrow check Data, Sam wrote up his Chough project work and then the evening was spent at Steve's having a curry night with Mari and Emyr from the trust.
