Again, calm conditions overnight saw another late night Manxie ringing session for George, Josie and Sam. They were out a little late than they could have been, but it still turned out to be a really good night, with 325 birds being ringed (including ten re-rings of birds with rings that were so old they have worn down). The oldest re-ring was originally ringed as a pullus back in 1981 and was then, unusually, caught two years later, it was then caught a handful of times up until 1990 and then never again until 2020.

Today's weather was lightly overcast, but warm, which was reasonably pleasant.

The first day visitors of the year arrived on the island today and the Gift Shop was ready just in time, it is nice to have people back, but strange to see anything other than the usual twelve faces around the island that there have been since March...

The afternoon was spent beginning to collate some of the Breeding Bird Census data from earlier in the year and some more work on the Solar Panel area took place, it's starting to look really good!
