A wet start meant that census was completed later in the morning and it turned into a stunning day. In the afternoon Sam and Stuart joined the Enlli Trust staff for a sea swim at Bae'r Nant.

The Woodchat Shrike remained in the fields below the Observatory and was enjoyed by some of the new visitors to the island. A small arrival of Whitethroat had occurred overnight with two males singing in the Observatory garden. There were also several flocks of finches with 12 Siskins, 14 Goldfinches and 26 Lesser Redpolls across the island. Five Spotted Flycatchers were recorded today.

The first resident House Martins have returned and were busy fixing up their nests at the Lighthouse Compound. Fortunately for them, there doesn't seem to have been too much damage over the winter.
