A calm day with south-easterly winds seemingly reduced avian activity today with a Tree Pipit over the South End and a female Redstart at Nant the only birds of note. A morning ringing session at Cristin produced some migrants along with a bit of variety in the form of a male Linnet and female Pied Wagtail.

The afternoon saw the first guided walk of the year with seven guests attending. A broad range of species where seen including Golden Hair Lichen, Greenland Wheatears, Sharp Rush and Puffins. This was followed in the evening by the first Manx Shearwater walk of the year. 16 new Shearwaters were ringed along with 24 retraps. This included one bird originally ringed as a chick on 31 August 1989 and last seen in 2000 making it 32 years old!
