A slight change in the winds today resulted in a small arrival of migrants, both birds and moths. Two Siberian Chiffchaffs were heard belting out their songs at Crisitin and Nant, and later in the afternoon the Nant bird was ringed, where the Jay was sighted again. On Solfach, a Sanderling and two Dunlin were seen. The other highlights of the day were a Cuckoo, a Lesser Whitethroat, three Black-headed Gulls and a Grey Heron. In terms of moths, 12 Silver Y's and a Hummingbird Hawk-moth were seen across the Island, the highest count of the year so far. Below is a recording of the Siberian Chiffchaff song:
Other bird totals were four Blackcaps, seven Whitethroats, a Spotted Flycatcher, two Sand Martins, 16 Swallows, and six House Martin.
