Most of the day was spent undertaking project work, surveying the breeding birds of the Island. In the morning, Oystercatcher and Rock Pipit surveys were carried out along the Island's coastline, alongside Chough monitoring later in the afternoon. The highlights in terms of birding were a Swift, a Common Sandpiper, two Purple Sandpipers, three Collared Doves, 13 Sedge Warblers, and a Merlin was sighted again after not being seen for a while.

Other migrant totals for the day were 32 Swallows, three House Martins, a Skylark, 21 Wheatears, 12 Blackcaps, five Willow Warblers and a Chiffchaff.
Chough and Shag monitoring work took us around the East Side again, where we got to witness the seabird spectacle!

Later in the afternoon, we ringed three Stonechat pullus in a nest we have been monitoring for the past few weeks. These were the first ones ringed since 25 years!
