Strong easterlies calmed later into the day and bought with it some nice migratory birds. Wheatear numbers remained high with 135 sighted across the Island, the majority of which were of the Greenland race (leuchora sp.). The first Lesser Whitethroat of the year was seen at Ty Pellaf, while other highlights of the day included three Redstarts, a Grasshopper Warbler, 43 Blackcaps, 20 Chiffchaffs, 56 Willow Warblers, three Red-throated Divers, a Merlin, two Dunlins, two Bar-tailed Godwits, 19 Whimbrels, a Curlew, 13 White Wagtails, 25 Swallows and a Sand Martin.
