A calmer day on Bardsey after the winds had passed through overnight. A couple of Black-headed Gulls were offshore and our first Mediterranean Gull of the year was flying in the Sound. On Carreg Yr Honwy, at least 52 Curlews were on the rocks. The Observatory staff took a boat trip around the East Side of the island to count all the fledged gulls, Kittiwakes and Shags. The Guillemot ledges are now nearly virtually empty although the Kittiwakes are still busy with large fledglings still present.

It proved to be an excellent day for Risso's Dolphins with several sightings of a small group in the morning before a larger pod lingered in the waters off Cafn and the South End for a considerable amount of time. In the evening, everyone at the Observatory was treated to excellent views of a sizable Common Dolphin pod which acrobatically leapt out of the glass-like waters!
