An excellent day kicked off well when the year's second Melodious Warbler was discovered in Ty-Pellaf Withy. A couple of hours later the bird finally found its way into the mist nets, and was duly ringed. Around 167 Willow Warblers passed through during the day, whilst a scattering of scarcer migrants comprised of a Greater-spotted Woodpecker, a Tree Pipit, a Whinchat and two Spotted Flycatchers. Overhead, a couple of Sand Martins passed through, a Buzzard circled above the mountain and a Sparrowhawk hunted prey.
