5th August

After a night's torrential rain, during which 50mm of water accumulated all over the island, a good number of migrants were grounded on the island.
The most obvious of these arrivals were Willow Warblers: over 50 individuals were scattered all over the island, with 32 alone at Nant. A single Grey Wagtail also flew overhead.
The first Green Sandpiper of the year flew over the withies in the morning, whilst four Purple Sandpipers, six Dunlins, four Whimbrels and 40 Turnstones.

4th August

Very little was seen on a breezy day, although 50 Common Scoters and 7900 Manx Shearwaters flew past at sea. A total of two Sanderlings, a Snipe, a Black-tailed Godwit and 41 Whimbrels were all noteworthy of the wader front.
