July ended on a bit of a weak note, with stronger south-westerly winds accompanying overcast skies for most of the day. A count of 28 Willow Warblers inland showed that there were relatively few migrants on the island, although a count of 62 Wheatears was excellent, and a Song Thrush, one Sand Martin and two Lesser Redpolls were also recorded. Non-passerines were highlighted by a Meditteranean Gull and 12 Sandwich Terns around The Narrows at high tide.
