A day of strong winds, drizzly rain and overcast skies made for a greatly reduced selection of avifauna on the island. The overwintering Whimbrel was seen around The Narrows, along with six Purple Sandpiper and a Common Gull. Five Snipe were noted in the lowlands, where a Grey Heron was also present.
