Very little change was noted today from brief censusing sporadicly across the island, but we were still provided with wildlife to enjoy. Down at Cafn, 16 Barrel Jellyfishes had been washed ashore mostly comprising of smallish individuals. Some are known to reach close to a meter in diameter and are a favoured food of the Leatherback Turtle (sadly not also detected bobbing just offshore). A third Shelduck made a brief appearance at the Narrows, alongside the pair that have been around for a few weeks now.

Presumably the same Great Spotted Woodpecker which has been present on the island since the Autumn and last seen on the 4th of December, last year, was calling from Ty Capel garden around the Nant area, whilst a pair of Stonechats still resided around the Boathouse and a Goldcrest was heard in the Observatory garden.
