Another beautiful day on Bardsey today with winds reaching no higher than 10mph and the sun beating down on the island from dawn until dusk. A small movement was noted, two Buzzards were seen over the Mountain, whilst the highlights of today’s passage were noted on the Narrows. Foremost a Ringed Plover, seven Sanderlings, 24 Dunlins and two Whimbrels were higher figures than in recent days. Some overhead passage also consisted of two Sand Martins, 85 Swallows, 11 House Martins and two White Wagtails, the first to be seen in over a week.


Two Stonechats made their way into log again today, as did three Sedge Warblers, one Whitethroat, six Chiffchaffs and two Willow Warblers. Another afro-palearctic migrants to grace Bardsey today were three Spotted Flycatchers. Finally, three Lesser Redpolls were the only new finches in today.
