It was another sublime day to be out in the field, sunny for the most part but with a cooling sea breeze to keep the temperature down. A smart summer-plumaged adult Mediterranean Gull off the West Coast was the first of the autumn and a Dark Green Fritillary seen flying around Traeth Ffynnon was the first of the year of this seldom recorded butterfly.

Other birds logged today included two Fulmars, 18 Gannets, a Grey Heron, three Teals, a Sparrowhawk, a Peregrine, two Lapwings, a Dunlin, 18 Curlews, eight Redshanks, two Common Sandpipers, four Black-headed Gulls, 49 Kittiwakes, a juvenile Cuckoo, a Little Owl, 18 Swifts, 22 Swallows, eight House Martins, nine Wheatears, a Sedge Warblers, two Chiffchaffs, three Chaffinches, two Goldfinches, 17 Linnets and two Lesser Redpolls

Moth morning is a surefire hit at the moment.

This evening we hosted the annual Obs BBQ with Geoff and Kate Gibbs' group of guests. Sian and Mark came over from Ty Bach, and Steve and Jo from the Farm. It was a fantastic evening and much food was enjoyed!
