Today was a quiet one on the bird front, the wind was a 20mph south east. But with a rapid and early departure imminent the staff are getting jobs done such as data inputting and packing the Observatory away, ready to face the winter unattended.
The bird of the day was a report from Gareth, the farmer on the island. Who gave some rather interesting news of a Swift over Nant, this late in the year, it can be assumed that we may well have missed a Pallid Swift, but this cannot be confirmed, unfortunately!
Blackbirds were once again frequenting Cristin Garden, with 22 counted at any one time, alongside these were 33 Chaffinches and two Blackcaps
