Another calm day today, just a slight northerly breeze in the morning which got stronger towards the afternoon but only ever reaching 15mph gusts.
It was a chilly and cloudy start to the day. Morning census didn't yield too much, just the usual breeding species, of course, it's still good to see juvenile Stonechats in the gorse and food-carrying Wheatears hopping along the walls across the island though.
A visit to the East Side in the afternoon was quite productive as yet more Shag broods were ringed with darvics, 19 chicks in total were ringed. There are many more than this on the island but the majority are either inaccessible or surrounded by sensitive cliff-nesting seabirds that mustn't be disturbed as it could be dangerous for eggs and chicks.
Down in Bae Felen there was a handful of Guillemots and Razorbills that were ringed, and very excitingly, the Storm Petrel nest box is getting used for the second year in a row!
