It was another excellent day for sea watching with winds from the southwest. The highlights were a Red-throated Diver and Great Northern Diver. The number of Manx Shearwater has fallen dramatically with very few now on the island and 13 flew past out at sea. Ten Arctic Skua were seen along with three Great Skua. A juvenile Yellow-legged Gull was seen at the South End - possibly the same bird from yesterday.
The majority of birds migrating over the island at the moment are pipits and wagtails, eight Grey Wagtails went over the Obs and nine White Wagtails were seen. A total of 48 Rock Pipits and 83 Meadow Pipits were counted as resident birds are joined by migrants from further north.
