The belting south-westerlies dropped in the afternoon but ultimately produced few species of note. A seawatch in the morning resulted in an intermediate phase Arctic Skua, a Fulmar, 17 Manx Shearwaters, 139 Gannets, eight Black-headed Gulls, six Mediterranean Gulls, 317 Kittiwakes, three Guillemots, and 517 Razorbills.
Elsewhere on the Island, there were two Sparrowhawks, two Purple Sandpipers, a Whimbrel, 55 Curlews, 17 Redshanks, 36 Oystercatchers, two Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler, seven Goldcrests, seven Starlings, and seven Skylarks. Most of the day was spent working on various project reports this year as we made the most of the quiet birding.
