Today was the last day of birding before the Assistant Wardens and voluntary staff departed the Island for end of the season. The winds calmed gradually during the day as patches of mizzly rain drifted through, again keeping things relatively quiet. The first Siberian Chiffchaff of the autumn was seen at Ty Pellaf, and a Black Redstart was moving between the Abbey and Cristin courtyard. Most of the day was spent finishing up the packing-up process and tidying things at the Observatory before the end of the season.

Other species recorded today included a Teal, a Sparrowhawk, 46 Oystercatchers, three Snipes, 46 Curlews, 100 Razorbills, 23 Meadow Pipits, seven Robins, 10 Song Thrushes, two Blackcaps, a Chiffchaff, seven Goldcrests, five Starlings, 15 Chaffinches, two Siskins, and a Goldfinch
