Light northerlies in the morning produced a varied arrival of birds. At the South End, Ollie had an Alpine Swift that was seen flying high south over the Lighthouse, which motored through and off out to sea. This was the third record for the Island; the other two were seen in 1987 and 1962.
The other highlights of the day were the first three Sand Martins and House Martin of the year, a Reed Bunting in Cristin Withy, two Golden Plovers, two Stock Doves at Pen Cristin, a Red-Throated Diver, and a Merlin. A small influx of corvids saw 39 Carrion Crows, two Jackdaws six Rooks, and three Ravens recorded.
