A wetter and windy day today saw the odd thing arrive. Waders dominated the log with three Sanderlings, two Dunlins, a Curlew, a Whimbrel and two Turnstones. A Sand Martin went over the Narrows with two Swifts high north along the Mountain and a new Blackcap trapped at Cristin. The day ended with a surprise Mistle Thrush over Ty Pellaf during the evening whilst staff enjoyed a goodbye meal for Jonathan who leaves us Saturday.

The Great Black-backed Gull was seen on the Gwylans yesterday having been ringed in 2014 in Cornwall! This is rather unusual for this species to travel so far north from where it was born.
