South-westerly force 3 winds brought relatively calm seas at sea State 2, although there was poor visibility and mizzle on and off throughout the day, with temperatures reaching 15°C.
Today’s highlights include a Hawfinch at Nant, while a Yellow-browed Warbler at the Observatory was seen before being trapped and ringed. A Pied Flycatcher was also found at Nant, whilst other passerines included 10 Blackcap, 15 Chiffchaff, 14 Goldcrest, two Song Thrush, three Wheatear and two Great Spotted Woodpecker, as well as the first three Starling of the autumn.

There was good passage of finches and pipits today, with 208 Linnet recorded across the island, alongside 174 Goldfinch, 96 Meadow Pipit, 23 Skylark and five Siskin.
Wader numbers included 36 Curlew, nine Ringed Plover, four Whimbrel, four Snipe, a Dunlin and a Golden Plover which was mobile around the island.
Aside from birds, other wildlife included five Humming-bird Hawk-moth, two Red Admiral, a single Rush Veneer and a Migrant Hawker at the Observatory.
