Torrential rain and fierce winds did their best to thwart the resolute bird-finding efforts of those who ventured out early in the morning, although a Bar-tailed Godwit was seen amongst the flock of Curlews. The rain had thankfully abated by late morning, and a Snow Bunting was seen on the top of the mountain. A steady flow of seabirds passing off the west coast included 2100 Kittiwakes, 400 Razorbills, 30 Guillemots, four Fulmars, a Wigeon, a Teal and 40 Common Scoters. Four Black Redstarts were still around, 25 Blackbirds, eight Song Thrushes, five Redwings and a Fieldfare were counted, and the finch flock comprised 80 Chaffinches and 20 Greenfinches.
