Thursday 1 April 2010

After the gale-force winds of yesterday, today has felt calmer with scattered showers. 5 Willow warblers and 3 Chiffchaff remain in Henllwyn, happily feeding amongst the seaweed, and 2 Wheatears were on Solfach. A few more Willow warblers and Chiffchaffs were seen at Nant. The Grey Plover remains on Solfach and a Dunlin was nearby. The highlight of the day was a Great Northern Diver feeding  just out from the mouth of Solfach. 2 Reed Buntings were also seen late in the afternoon in the reedbed.

The first Great Northern Diver of the year was seen feeding west of Solfach.
