Friday 20 August 2010

Despite starting off as a fairly windy and drizzly day, the rain and wind cleared in the afternoon and a good selection of waders were seen: 46 Turnstones, 19 Redshanks, four Dunlins, two Purple Sandpipers, two Sanderlings, three Ringed Plovers and two Knots were feeding in Solfach at high tide. Landbirds included a Whinchat, a young Cuckoo skulking around the withies and a Sparrowhawk terrorising the small birds at Nant.
